I don't talk about Big Sean often...actually, have I ever? His music has always been in the realm of "decent" for me, but after really digging his joint effort with Jhene Aiko from earlier this year (TWENTY88) I've paid a little more attention, and he's actually a lot better than I've given him credit for. While he may not be challenging me at every turn, he's got a smooth flow and a relaxed tone that's hard to deny, and that sentiment is available in full on this latest single.
You may remember a Big Sean track being leaked back in July? Well, it was this one, and now it's finally, LEGALLY, available to us. I'll start with the cliche of saying that it was worth the wait. "Living Single" sees Big Sean and Chance The Rapper going back and forth on the merits of single life. Both of them handle business but surprisingly it's Jeremih's simple chorus and the laid back production that hooks me. The whole song is easy to love, keeping things nice and breezy, I only hope his upcoming LP I Decided, due February 2nd, follows suit.
Also, for fans of TWENTY88, he said to expect part two sometime in 2017 as well. Stay tuned.
