Fresh off of what I think is the best work of his career, 2015's beautiful and intimate Home (number 10 on my list of Top 50 Albums of 2015), Josh is already moving forward. "Hiding Place" sounds like nothing off of Home, then again that's one of the reasons I'm such a fan of his catalogue. He's constantly exploring new directions, yet staying relevant and powerful lyrically. Here he works with a darker mood while incorporating a handful of different styles musically, talking about the depth of troubles we're currently facing and asking the Lord to lead us home. Did I mention he's a Christian artist? He is. My favorite one too. I couldn't find out if he has another album on the way, but I'll update you when I do. For now, just be contented listening to this great track.
