I'm a few months late to the party (their album, Breakfast, came out back in March), but I've never been too on top of things so that's fine by me. As long as I find it! This brother-sister led band is overflowing with a classic soul sound, mixed with elements pop and jazz. It's easy listening at its finest. And don't be fooled by the lightness of the record, though this is their first full length effort (they previously released the seven track, Homesick, back in 2013), there's a ton of maturity and poise in it's structure. It brings me back to how I felt after GoldFord's wonderful and warm 2013 record Shed A Little Light. While I haven't had the time to do a full review of the record, the song I chose, which opens the album, is a perfect representation of their sound. It's fun, clever, and smooth. In addition I'll include the second track off the record, "Alibi," so you can get a feel for Gracie Lawrence's surprisingly powerful vocals (she's not even 20!). Great stuff.
